The tube in the right half of the frame is the vas deferens. It is microsurgically being connected to the epididymis, the structure which encompasses most of the frame.

To give an idea of scale:

  • This clip was captured at 40x magnification.
  • suture (surgical thread) you see is 1/1000 of an inch thick — invisible to the naked eye.

Keep in mind, the instruments you see are being manipulated by hand. Great precision is required to get consistent success in vasectomy reversal.
